The Rulers of the Persian Empire

The following pages present introductory material on the achievements of the individual Achaemenid kings. They focus especially on highlighting the perspective and information provided by the epigraphic material documented in the project. For the sake of comprehensiveness, some information is provided also on rulers that have no known inscriptions or were no more than short-lived usurpers.
