Erišum II was the thirty-eighth ruler, according to the Assyrian King List [/riao/kinglists/assyriankinglist/assyriankinglist/index.html#Old Assyrian rulers]; the AKL lists affirms that Erišum II's immediate successor, Narām-Sîn, was his father, and originally also listed the years of his reign, but this part is damaged in all the versions of the list in our possession. However, according the Kültepe Eponym List, Erišum and his father ruled for a total of sixty-four years (Veenhof 2008:29). The Puzur-Aššur Dynasty, of which Erišum was the final member, came to an end when Samsi-Addu I marched north from Babylonia and seized the throne of Aššur. No inscription of this Erišum has been found.
