Rulers

The pages included under the "Rulers" tab are intended to provide general information about the six kings of the Neo-Babylonian Dynasty and their inscriptions. Click on the names of any ruler's name to the left (or below) to view some information about his reign. Note that the links to the left are arranged alphabetically, rather than chronologically (as they are below).

To learn more about the official inscriptions of these rulers, click on the "Inscriptions" link beneath the king's name. Note that this option is available only when you are viewing a king's bio page. At present, our site contains completed inscription pages for Nabopolassar [http://oracc.museum.upenn.edu/ribo/babylon7/rulers/nabopolassar/index.html], Amēl-Marduk [http://oracc.museum.upenn.edu/ribo/babylon7/rulers/amelmarduk/index.html], and Neriglissar [http://oracc.museum.upenn.edu/ribo/babylon7/rulers/neriglissar/index.html]. Those of Nebuchadnezzar II and Nabonidus are still under construction. Since there are no known inscriptions of Lâbâši-Marduk, one will not find an "Inscription" link under his name.
