Babylonian King List C (private collection)

A small clay tablet in a private collection contains a list of some of the rulers of the Second Dynasty of Isin [http://oracc.museum.upenn.edu/ribo/babylon2/index.html] (1157-1026 BC). This scribal exercise or draft copy is written in Neo-Babylonian script and likely dates to the reign of Adad-apla-iddina (1068-1047 BC), the eighth king of that dynasty, or possibly to the late reign of his predecessor Marduk-šāpik-zēri (1081-1069 BC), the last king mentioned on the tablet. It has been suggested that the scribal note at the end of the composition (lines 8-9) may have been an attempt by the scribe in training to calculate one fixed point of time to another.
