1As noted by B. Balcıoğlu and W. Mayer (Orientalia NS 75 [2006] p. 180), GÁ is used for the verb šakānu in royal votive inscriptions from the Sargonid period in texts of Sargon II (text no. 49 line 1), Sennacherib’s wife Zakūtu/Naqiʾa (Leichty, RINAP 4 p. 319 no. 2005 line 8), and a wife of Ashurbanipal (Johns, ADD no. 644 line 8), as well as in a text on a fragment of a circular disk of banded agate, whose date is unknown (Gurney in Kraabel, Journal of Jewish Studies 30 [1979] pp. 56–58).
