1a*-[na-ku] “I”: D.J. Wiseman’s copy of ND 4315 (ex. 2) appears to have the masculine determinative (a single vertical wedge). However, since Sîn-šarra-iškun’s other inscriptions written on clay cylinders, prisms, and cones all begin with anāku (“I”), rather than with the king’s name, this inscription probably also began with anāku. Compare, for example, Ssi 10 (Cylinder A) line 1. Because ND 4315 was unavailable for examination, the authors were unable to confirm the accuracy of Wiseman’s copy.

4mdIŠKUR-ERIM.TÁḪ [x x (x)] x “Adad-nārār[ī (III) ...]”: Based on Ssi 10 line 23, possibly read mdIŠKUR-ERIM.TÁḪ [DUMU mšam-ši-d]IŠKUR?, “Adad-nārār[ī (III), son of Šamšī-Ada]d (V).” Although this may appear to result in an overly long line, the signs of the line are written more closely together than those of other lines.

5[it]-ti ši-ṭir MU-šú “[wit]h (an inscribed object) bearing his name”: The master text comes from ex. 10. In this common concluding forumla, one expects it-ti MU.SAR-e ši-ṭir MU-šú “with an inscribed object bearing his name.” However, the damaged sign before ši-ṭir MU-šú in the exemplar cannot be read as e and thus interpreted as [MU.SAR]-e. It instead appears to be the right half of a winkelhaken, suggesting the reading [it]-ti ši-ṭir MU-šú in which the scribe has omitted MU.SAR-e.
