Vocabulary: function words

Function words are all the little words that don't mean much on their own, but are the grammatical glue that hold a sentence together. In Akkadian they include pronouns (which replace nouns), conjunctions (which connect phrases), and prepositions (which describe relationships between things). This list of function words only includes the words used in our Cuneiform exercises and Texts to read pages. It is no substitute for a good Akkadian dictionary.
